ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR G.N.M.

The age limit for admission shall be 17-30 years or 17 years on before 1st august of the year of admission.

Educational Requirement: The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of higher secondary school certificate Examination (10+2=12) in Arts, Commerce & Sciences and English with minimum of 40% aggregate marks.

Minimum 35% Aggregate Marks Required for SC/ST Students.

Medical Requirement: Candidates shall be medically fit.

Intake Capacity: 50 students.

Course starts From: Course starts in the month of September every year

Course Duration: 3 Years

Annual Leaves: 30 Days/Year

Personal Leave: 7 Days/Year

Medical Leave: A Medical certificate from registered Medical practitioner is must.

Students are not allowed to take leave more than 1 month. Students not fulfilling the requirements prescribed by Council/University will not be allowed to appear in the final exams.

Admission Procedure

Forms will be available in the college office from 1st May onwards or can be downloaded from our website.

Candidate should apply by filling the application form for Rs. 150/- (GNM) either by cash payment or DD in favour of Principal KLES Institute of nursing sciences payable at Dandeli.

Documents required during the time of admissions are as follows:

  • S.S.L.C/X Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies ).
  • IInd PUC/XII Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies ).
  • Transfer/L.C Certificate from Previous (Original+ 3 attested copies ).
  • Migration Certificate (Original+ 3 attested copies ).
  • Character Certificate from the previous institution (Original+ 3 attested copies).

  • Community Health Nursing –I

  • Medical Surgical Nursing-I
  • Medical Surgical Nursing-II
  • Psychiatric Nursing
  • Child Health Nursing( As per New syllabus)

List Of Subjects - 3rd Year

  • Midwifery& Gynecological Nursing
  • Community Health Nursing
  • Child Health Nursing (As per old Syllabus)

Examination

Students shall have board examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.

Class tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student's performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the board as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.

A model exam will be conducted before the board examination.

Carry over system: The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of Diploma Nursing course. The candidates shall complete all the subjects of first year & second year before appearing for third year examinations.
